Challenge
Midtown Bank's existing logo didn't reflect what it was really about.
"We felt that the logo we had didn’t reflect how we wanted to be seen in the marketplace. It didn’t resonate with clients and potential clients,” says Rhonda Kahn, CFO/COO of Midtown Bank.

Still, it had been in use for nearly two years. Customers, vendors and potential customers had become accustomed to the logo. In other words, there was some brand equity to protect.

In a crowded market Midtown Bank needed to attract more customers and stand apart from competition.
Midtown Bank provided unusually personal service and rates that were some of the best in Atlanta. It needed a way to communicate its value to a larger number of potential customers.

Solutions
New Logo and Strong Visual Branding
Instead of walking away from Midtown Bank’s brand equity by starting from scratch, Kemba Creative updated the column design element and color. These were the logo components that were most memorable and connected to the bank.

We created a shape that gave the logo design more excitement and provided an element to visually brand the bank in its promotional materials. The new logo design now mirrored how the bank saw itself: unique, energetic and on the move like Midtown Atlanta itself.

Tagline to Better Connect with Target Audience
Kemba Creative then worked on the messaging. Midtown Bank wanted to convey its high-quality personal service, individual banking solutions and understanding of the Midtown lifestyle. To capture that we developed a tagline: Your Life. Your Style. Your Bank.

New Branding into New Advertising.
“We liked the new look and wanted to extend that image and style into advertising,” says Rhonda Kahn. Not only did we continue the visual branding, which distinguishes Midtown Bank’s ads in a challenging market. We expanded on the tagline in the ad copy. That made the advertising both a branding and business development vehicle.

Results
“The ads have brought in new customers since the first day we ran them. Our new look has been well received. I feel like the old logo misrepresented who we were, it implied a traditional, private bank, unapproachable. It was not who we want to be. This new logo is open, positive, modern. And the comments have been positive as a result.”
